When I started Project 10 with the fabulous Rhode Island bloggers, my goal was to live a healthier lifestyle and finally say goodbye to my “2-kid muffin top.” Here we are, 8 weeks into our 10 week project and according to My Fitness Pal, I’ve lost 10 pounds. Don’t get all excited though because apparently I started logging into Project 10 at 150 instead of the 152.2 I started out with on My Fitness Pal (the week before Project 10 started). Technicalities, people. Close enough for me!
I feel a million times better than the tired mom in yoga pants I was just 2 months ago. I can wear my old skinny jeans all day long- without even having to unbutton the top! I finally fit in the pre-baby clothes that have been taunting me from the corner of my closet for years and you know what? It feels SO much better than the munchkins I used to pound on a daily basis. My husband has even gotten on board with being healthier and is using My Fitness Pal AND a FitBit! My family is living a healthier lifestyle, just like I set out to do in my first week of Project 10.
I feel as though food is a fuel source for me now, not a way to make myself feel better. By using My Fitness Pal, I’ve learned that some foods have an insane amount of calories and are just not worth it. I’ve also learned that if I’m at faux Book Club and my friend makes an incredible meal, complete with a donut cake, I’m going to enjoy it, damnit. As you can see from my huge calorie overage yesterday, I record EVERYTHING I eat and drink. It holds me accountable, but I allow myself days to eat whatever I want because I know I will fall off the wagon hard if I don’t record everything.
For example, here are some of my tracking pages from My Fitness Pal:

Calories from the last 30 days, check out the spikes at BlogHer & faux Book Club!

My weight from the last 90 days
Some of you have written me to let me know that my Project 10 journey has been an inspiration to you. THANK YOU. It means so much to me that my journey might motivate someone else to start their own.
Here is what I have been up to:
- track EVERYTHING I eat in My Fitness Pal (on my phone/iPad/online)
- wear my FitBit all day long to track how active I am
- make healthier choices (grilled chicken salad instead of the cheeseburger, skim milk in my coffee vs. cream, wine vs. regular beer)
- allow myself to splurge, but not let it become a habit
- working out & lifting weights 3x/week
So the numbers for week 8 of Project 10 are:
beginning weight: 150.0
beginning of week 7: 143.3
end of week 8: 142.2*
-1,1 lbs for the past 2 weeks
7.8 lbs TOTAL (10 since starting My Fitness Pal)
How have you been doing the last few weeks? I would love to keep hearing from you and seeing you on My Fitness Pal/FitBit. Keep up the great work!! xo
You are doing a great job!! You look great!!!
You have done amazing (and look fantastic!!!!) I really need to get into the grove with tracking on My Fitness Pal – and I’m debating actually getting myself a Fit Bit as well, did you find it was a really useful tool? Was it inconvenient to wear when you had a dress on?
