I can’t seem to catch up on sleep. Tending for sick babies who wake up through the night, every night this week, makes feeling rested like a faraway dream.
Today was another typical day with 2 toddlers battling colds. One highlight was meeting Stefanie from Kowalli this morning, when she so kindly dropped off a Kowalli for me to review. It will come in SO handy tomorrow for the football game. I’ll be wearing Sidney all day and can never figure out a way to stay warm while babywearing– Kowalli is the solution to that! Stay tuned to learn more about this cool {Rhode Island} product!
We headed to Target to stock up on water, batteries and other Hurricane Sandy essentials. Only one meltdown by Jackson and Sidney only choked on a Ritz cracker once– I’ll call it a success.
Jackson did manage to poop on the potty for the first time ever. I’m being generous when I say poop because it was really more like a Raisinet, but the fact that he said he had to go and squeeze out a rabbit pellet thrills me. We are getting there! I won’t have a first-grader wearing a diaper some day (hopefully).
I bought some little hair elastics at Target (I called them bee-bobs when I was little) and put pigtails on Sidney for the first time. It only took her approximately 45 seconds before she ripped them out. She may or may not have eaten one.
I bathed the kids and put their little Boston College outfits for the football game tomorrow. It will be Sidney’s first game, I know she will have a blast!
Before I go to bed, here are some other random things on my mind:
- When is Sidney going to drink anything besides breastmilk? The girl will not drink formula, water, juice, cow’s milk. Nothing. She nurses 3x/day but I’m always stressing about keeping her hydrated.
- The nail salon (I go to) owner’s husband just registered to vote for the first time. He’s lived in the US for 15 years (originally from Vietnam) but has never voted. He is so excited to vote that I couldn’t help but smile and appreciate our country. He had a million questions for me: what time the polls open, what happens when you go in, etc. I love that we live in a country where we all have an equal vote.
Hope you have a great Friday night!!! I’ll be back tomorrow with a much more exciting day since we are headed up to Boston!
Just visiting for the first time? Check out the rest of my week here: Monday, Tuesday , Wednesday & Thursday. I’m participating in Adventuroo’s Week in My Life Project. I hope one day, years down the road, I’ll look back and smile at these mundane days. )
Great post! I hear ya on the potty training, my son was a challenge and my daughter was totally interested but now stopped. *sigh* I hope they feel better and you get some sleep soon!
Ooooh, have SO much fun at the game today!! Even though it is BC. And in 2 weeks, I will be a mega BC football hater since they will be playing MY team (Notre Dame). But still…HAVE FUN!! 😉
And 2 weeks ago when we were at the Audubon, I saw a woman wearing a teeny tiny newborn in one of those Kowallis, and I actually told her how cool I thought it was!! I love that it is an RI product!!
Someday they’ll be potty trained, took my oldest forever, my son decided on his own. I don’t even remember about the youngest (poor thing). I love her hair-do!!
The piggies are cute, even if they were short-lived. Also, love your granite countertops (I’m partial because I think we have the same ones!)
Hope everything is okay with the upcoming storm.
I hope you had a great time at the game today!! Potty training is a big ole pain. But one day, they just get it (after many days that they don’t) and it gets better. 🙂 Love the pigtails- one of my favorite little girl hairstyles! And this hurricane can SHOVE IT. 🙂
Hi Joanna, My son did the same thing with liquids. Just monitor her wet diapers, incorporate foods that are high in water content and keep the sippy cup readily available for her. To this day, he doesn’t drink a ton so I add a little apple juice to his water to try to entice him! And one more thing, I know it’s hard but try not to show your stress over the matter because, as we know, they sense it. Try to make it as “no big deal” as possible. Good luck!
Thanks Kerri! Appreciate the tips!!
