Jackson has been swimming for 8 months now. Every week we drive 40 minutes (one way) through snow and nasty winter conditions to take lessons. I definitely don’t feel like getting in a bathing suit and getting in a cold pool, but knowing how to swim is one of the most important life lessons I feel I can teach Jackson at a young age.
Growing up in Florida, knowing how to swim is a necessity but it doesn’t seem as important, or perhaps urgent is a better word, in New England for kids to know how to swim. My in-laws have a great pool right off their porch and my parents in Florida live on the water so Greg & I know how important it is that Jackson can swim as early as possible. I was very relieved this week when Greg decided to get in the pool with Jackson for his lesson– I could finally take pictures and stay dry!
Here are some of my favorite pictures from this week and one from his first class last June.
