Today was our final Occupational Therapy appointment with the Feeding Team. It feels so good to say that! We were discharged today since the Binkster has show better eating habits and is steadily gaining weight and getting taller.
The official stats for todays visit are: 32 inches tall (15%) and 21.2 pounds (1.14%). Since our last appointment almost two months ago he has grown an inch and gained almost a pound, definitely progress! Our OT therapist was pleased with him and the increase in his upper body strength. We will miss Miss P, our fantastic therapist and the sweet group of people at Hasbro’s Feeding Team. They helped us out and gave some good tips to keep Binkster’s growth curve going in the right direction.
We’re now back in the hands of his normal pediatrician and I am so relieved! My number one concern has always been my son, but with the pregnancy, selling the house and building a new one- things have been a little stressful!
We plan on keeping him on the morning PediaSure and lunch time Carnation Instant Breakfast for as long as our pediatrician recommends. Hopefully once most of his teeth come in he will become an “eater.” I’ve always noticed a big drop in appetite when there is a new tooth coming in. I can’t blame him, I know when I have a toothache I’ am miserable. Here’s hoping my little man can keep up the good work and finally kick that Failure to Thrive diagnosis to the curb! 🙂
