It is February in New England and you know what that means: snow. Lots of snow. As a matter of fact, we are expecting anywhere from 12 inches-12 feet of snow in the next few days. We are stocked up on all the essentials: milk, bread, snacks and wine. Plans for the weekend have been cancelled or rescheduled and I picked up some snow sleds on clearance from Target this morning to facilitate our snow family fun.
One downside to spending hours outside in the bitter cold snow is skin. Our kids have my sensitive skin which gets angry at the elements *very* quickly. Their pale, peach skin will quickly chap and turn as red as a berry. My pediatrician recommended Aquaphor to me for Jackson’s sensitive skin when he was a newborn in the winter of 2009. I’ve always had a tube of the Aquaphor Baby Healing Ointment in the house as long as I have been a parent, so when Aquaphor asked me to review a couple of their products it was a no-brainer. This stuff works wonders on dry, sensitive skin (I even use it on my cuticles from time to time).
The other product I tried out is Aquaphor Baby Gentle Wash & Shampoo, which came at a perfect time because our other bottle of baby shampoo just ran out. I LOVE how mild and fresh this cleanser smells. It makes my toddlers smell like brand-new newborns again (until they get covered in their breakfast, of course). The baby gentle wash & shampoo doesn’t dry out their skin and the fact that it cleans both skin and hair is a major plus for me since I usually wash both kids at the same time. Bath time is much easier when I can use one product like Aquaphor.
