Technically I’ll be 15 weeks on Thursday, but I’m going to round up. This pregnancy has been very different than it was with Jackson. First off, I felt as though I had the world’s worst hangover from weeks 7-13. Secondly, throw in the sleep deprivation a toddler can give you and that makes one tired, pregnant mama!
I feel like I’m already failing this poor baby because I haven’t been as diligent as taking weekly belly pictures as I was with Jackson- it makes me feel terrible! I love this baby just as much as my J-man, but there isn’t enough time in the day to spend obsessing over pregnancy like I did the first time. It’s the reality of a second baby in my case.
I haven’t had too many crazy cravings. In the first few weeks, I could drink V8 juice all day and night. That craving was one of the first indicators to me that I could be pregnant because I loved V8 with Jackson as well. A new craving for me has been california rolls (drenched in soy sauce of course) and the ginger that comes with them. There were a few weeks that was all I could eat.
I turned 13 weeks in Florida and it was like a light switch turned on and the nausea was gone, thank goodness! The past two weeks have been good pregnancy-wise, my best friend is 3 weeks behind me in her pregnancy so it is exciting to be going through it together again. Her son Tysen is 8 weeks older than Jackson.
I had my monthly OB appointment today and the baby sounded great on the dopper with a heart rate coming in at 148 beats per minute. I wonder if there is any truth to the old wives tale of heart rate predicting gender? We will find out soon enough because our anatomy ultrasound is scheduled for June 1st and we are leaning towards finding out this little babe’s gender.
Do you have any guesses on the sex of this baby?
