You know I’m a Pinterest addict, but so are some of my family members. My cousin, Karen, recently found something on Pinterest she liked and decided to change it up and make it her own. Since she doesn’t have a blog, I asked her if she would guest post on my blog since some of my Pinterest projects have been busts (a couple have been ok). Karen doesn’t blog, but be sure to follow her on Pinterest! Enjoy!
I had been looking for a better key rack for our house for a while. I saw one on Pinterest and thought it was cute, but I wanted to change it up a little. This is the one I saw:
I wanted something that looked a little less “crafty”so I went to my local arts and crafts store and found a frame that I liked. Because we have a lot of keys (and other things we can hang up), and a husband who isn’t exactly easy on things, I wanted to make our key rack a little more sturdy and yet still be pretty.
I decided on using 4 hooks – bought at the local hardware store. I spaced them equally and pre-drilled pilot holes. Tip: depending on the frame you get, you may want to put masking tape on the frame before drilling the holes as some materials can split when you are drilling. I attached all the hooks and then added pictures.
I chose to use pictures that we took during some of our trips. Now when we go somewhere, we will make sure to take portrait-aligned pictures so we can change them up periodically. This frame holds 5×7 pictures.
Here’s my version:
I think Karen did a great job and I need to make one of these for our house! Our keys are ALWAYS getting lost 🙂
