Painting and wine: it doesn’t get any better than that.
I first learned about places like Paint and Vino from seeing a friend’s pictures from her nights at a place called Bottles N Brushes in South Carolina. I was green with envy after seeing her and her girlfriends having a blast: drinking wine and painting canvases. For 2 years I have waited for a place like this to open up in Rhode Island: somewhere to meet up with friends, relax with some wine and get creative.
Three weeks ago, I saw a Facebook ad for Paint and Vino. My dream had come true! Exactly what I had wished for opened up in Rhode Island and it is only 20 minutes from my house. My girlfriend Melissa (Filling Our Bucket & Rhody Bloggers for Good) was able to meet me for a night out at Paint and Vino a few days later. We had a BLAST. We laughed, enjoyed our *2* free alcoholic beverages, listened to good music and painted our own Safari Sunset painting. They have thought of every detail. When you arrive, you receive 2 free drink tickets and order your drink at the bar. I tried a fancy wine and then a local Pawtucket beer, both were tasty and an incredible value considering they were included in my ticket price. You also receive a cork to paint while waiting for the class to begin and once finished you can hang it on the coat room door frame. Even though they had only been open a few weeks, I enjoyed seeing other people’s “cork art.” Everything in the studio is new, clean and well-designed, even down to the nail brushes at the bathroom sinks. As soon as I got home, I looked up dates when I could go again, with more friends this time.
Melissa and I spoke with the owner, Rachel, and told her we had a group of Rhody Bloggers that would enjoy checking out Paint and Vino. We booked a class for a few weeks later and showed up last Saturday to paint a lighthouse scene. Most of us had no painting experience but the instructor Jessica made it very simple by demonstrating each step of the way on an raised stage at the front of the studio. Our instructor Jessica was awesome and walked around the room several times throughout the 3 hour session, helping anybody who needed it and offering tips and techniques. She made everyone feel like an artist, even if our only experience painting was with our fingers in preschool. Everybody who works at Paint and Vino is friendly, helpful and eager to make sure you have a fabulous night out.
If you’re in Rhode Island and are looking to have a fun, one-of-a-kind night out, book a class at Paint and Vino.
It’s the perfect girls night out, bachelorette party, team building exercise for an office or date night. The studio is conveniently located near 95, has plenty of parking and even has a patio overlooking the river where you can hang out during breaks. Check out their Facebook page for promotions and book your class!
