New Girl at CrossFit, 9 Months Later

crossfit

I'm 9 months into "CrossFitting". In 9 months I could have had another child but instead I've transformed into a stronger, faster, healthier version of myself. By giving myself an hour a day, 3-4 times a week at the box (CrossFit gym), I've become someone who can devote more energy to her kids and family. I showed up to the gym today a few minutes early and while I was putting on my shoes, a Continue Reading

On Independence and Alzheimer’s

I have always looked up to my "Gaga." My mother's mother moved to Florida from Vermont after meeting my grandfather at a company picnic she attended with her cousin while on vacation.  She bravely moved away from her large family and settled in St. Petersburg, Florida. She continued her career as a registered nurse and started a family with my Grandpa Barney. She had three boys followed by my Continue Reading

Thankful Thursday: Start each day with a grateful heart.

Susan is a fellow University of Florida College of Journalism alum and the magazine featured her new book: Until I Say Goodbye. She found out she had ALS in June of 2011 and her book, published in March of 2013,  is a beautifully written goodbye to Continue Reading

Grateful for Momastery

momastery

Do you read Momastery yet? Glennon Melton writes with the type of honesty and candidness that makes you want to scoop her up and be her best friend. She's a breath of fresh air and I'm so thankful for my friend Cynthia for sharing her post "Don't Carpe Diem" with me back in 2011. I've enjoyed her blog ever since. She is so open with her struggles as a mother, wife and human being that you feel Continue Reading

What happens when a Mom shops at Victoria’s Secret instead of Target

EDITED on 1/30/14 because certain family members think I share too much on my blog. I removed my bra size and need to clarify the reason my credit card was denied. I was part of the infamous "Target data breach," so my credit card companies are hyper-alert for fraudulent charges. So please don't worry, thank you. You know you're a mom when you only purchase your lingerie from Target. You also Continue Reading
