I’m off to see the plastic surgeon… but not for a “fun” reason like Botox or a boob job. Turns out my moles that were removed a few weeks ago aren’t cancer, “yet.” The one on my stomach was “moderately atypical” while the one on my back was “severely atypical.” According to my dermatologist, they’re not cancer but are pre-cancerous and need to be removed with much larger margins than what was left after removing it the first time. Since I have a history of skin cancer (non-melanoma) and scarring badly, my doctor is more comfortable with sending me to a plastic surgeon to perform this surgery. In exactly 2 weeks, I will have those bad boys carved out some more and sent off to pathology again.
*Also, if I wasn’t still nursing Sidney I would *totally* get a little botox in these crows feet. After all, I am 32 now!
*PSS. It is hard to take a picture of your own back AND I had no clue how many moles I had on it!
I’m so glad you’re getting it taken care of before it turned into cancer!! I have a-typical moles, too. Very fair skin and I only burn, never tan. I went years ago to get all of my moles mapped and had two removed for biopsies. It turned out they were nothing, but I really should go back and check to see if any of them have changed. It’s so important to take care of ourselves in this way.
Thanks for sharing this! Hopefully lots of other people (like me) will be reminded to have their moles checked out!
OH wow! It’s great that you are being so pro-active about this and scary that you HAVE to be so pro-active!
I hope the surgery goes well! Good thing they removed them in time, huh?! I will be thinking of you!
And ps) you don’t need botox! You’re gorgeous!
I’m glad they were only pre-cancerous! Best wishes, and now you’ll know who to go to when you are ready for the “fun” plastic surgery!
eek! Good luck girl!!
I hope everything goes well.
ok….so a couple things….
first and most importantly – I sincerely hope everything goes well!!!
Second…how DID you take that picture – I’m impressed – I figured you handed your hubby your phone/camera and had him snap away….
