One of my favorite memories of my kids being little was taking them to Rock-a-baby music classes. I started with Jackson when he was just 4 months old and the band continued to be a fixture in my kids lives, with both of their first birthday parties featuring the band.

Jackson’s first birthday party, 2010.
One of my first tips for new parents (in RI/MA/NYC) is to attend Rock-a-baby classes with their children ASAP. Now that I have a first grader and preschooler at 7 & 5-years-old, we’ve “aged out” of the classes and I miss taking them every week to hear Rhythm, Melody & Harmony sing. Rock-a-baby founder Marc contacted me to let me know about their latest CD release and I was excited to listen to it with my kids and hear their opinion.
We listened to the entire album at once while stuck in rush hour traffic and my kids LOVED the album. They both sang along and I laughed out loud at some of the jokes Rock-a-baby always slips in for the parents (one of my favorite parts of the classes). The album is even better the second and third/fourth/fifth time listening. The songs are catchy, unique and teach kids about the foundations of music. It has even inspired Jackson to make a late change to his Christmas list and add a drum set and keyboard to his Santa wish list (thanks R-A-B).
The CD would make a great gift for any child in your life. Sadly, my kids don’t remember attending Rock-a-baby classes when they were younger, but I feel like we can revisit their toddler days by listening to the latest CD, Old MacDonald & Other Historical Figures.
You know an album made an impression when your 7-year-old tells your Amazon Alexa to play “Rock-a-baby” when you come home. Needless to say, this CD will be playing in my car for a long time and I’ve already added it to my Spotify playlist so the kids can listen at home. We also ordered an extra to gift my son’s music teacher– my son asked to buy one for her and I know she will love the CD, especially the songs Dynamics, Harmonic Equation and Major Minor.
The album is also available on Spotify, so now it’s a dance party all the time at home with Old MacDonald and Other Historical Figures. Purchase your CD today at rock-a-baby.net and take advantage of their special “buy one for a friend offer” and save $5 when you ship to a friend (valid thru Jan 1, 2017).
The CD is officially released today and they’ve gone digital. If you can’t stand physical discs (that come with a really cool coloring book so you need to buy one too), find them online:
