In just 8 short hours you are going to be 4 months old. A third of a year has flown by in a blink of an eye. We just got home from dinner with some of my blogging friends and they all complimented your sweet disposition and the fact that you didn’t make a peep in the restaurant. I’m so lucky to have such a good-natured baby. After dinner, I brought you home and took off your sequined Valentine’s Day shirt and tucked you into your pajamas. Some babies would cry after being woken up and changed, but all you did was smile. You were so tired that after nursing you gave me a grin and could barely keep your little eyes open, even though you wanted to make sure I’m close.
You’re my number one girlfriend and best buddy. When Jackson was your age, he loved to spend his days swinging but not you. You are happy sitting, laying or doing tummy time- the kicker is you have to see Mama. As soon as I am out of your line of vision the pouty bottom lip comes out and you let everyone know you’re not pleased. I’ve started to see more “feistiness” come out in your personality, but you aren’t as dramatic as your brother was at this age.
You’re awake more during the day now, but still sleeping like a champ. You spend your nights in the c0-sleeper next to me and nap during the day in your “nap nanny” or seat perched up on our kitchen island (safe from rough brother hands). When you’re awake you enjoy laughing at your big brother, eating and spending time with your Mom.
You’re a big girl, wearing size 6-9 months clothing and size 2 diapers. Dr M. prefers to say you’re “fuller-figured” than your big brother. Every day you grow closer to your big brother and I feel like my heart might just explode out of my chest every time I see you two interact. Our family of 4 (5 if you count Rex) is better than I ever could have imagined. Life is great and family is what completes mine. On this Valentine’s Day I am so thankful for all of my life’s loves: you, your brother and your father.
All my love,
