Last Saturday you turned 4-months-old. I can’t believe how quickly the past 120 days have gone. We spent Saturday at Monster Mini Golf celebrating your cousin Matthew’s second birthday. You loved being held by your Gram and Aunt Beth and laughed at all the fun the other “big” kids were having. You are a joy to be around and your Dad & I have more fun with you every day.
In the past month, you have really found your voice. You are also a morning person, which Dad & I have no idea who you got that from. You like to wake up anywhere between 5 and 6 am and immediately start (loudly) telling us about your night and how you are feeling. Although your Dad, Rex & I would like to sleep in longer, I secretly adore how bubbly and happy you are in the morning. Nothing makes me happier than seeing your wide, toothless grin in the morning.
You’ve also discovered how to use your hands! You like to grab everything within reach and try to fit it in your mouth. Your favorite toys are the blue ball rattle, Sophie the Giraffe and your tag lovey with the sock monkeys on it. All three fit in your mouth perfectly!
We have your 4 month pediatrician appointment on Wednesday and I would guess you are somewhere between 13 and 14 pounds and 24 or so inches long. You’ve grown a lot and are a long, lean baby! The baby gym we go to every week has paid off 🙂
You’ve also noticed that you have a dog, Rex the (giant) Yorkie. Your eyes follow him around the room and you love it when he is within reach because you like to run your long, chubby fingers through his fur. Unfortunately, at the end of those long little fingers are very sharp, talon-like fingernails that I can’t ever get smooth. I apologize for all those small cuts on your face due to my baby-manicure ineptitude. One of these days I’ll get that skill down.
You go to bed around 6:30 every night and sleep very well. You still wake up to snack 2-3 times per night, but I don’t mind! You’re a growing boy and if you’re hungry you should eat. You still have your Daddy time in the morning when he takes you downstairs at 7am while I sleep for an extra hour. Then I come downstairs at 8am where you are napping until 9:30 or so. When you wake up, you eat and then we play. You love to jump in your jumper and enjoy sitting in your exersaucer, but only for about 10-15 minutes. Tummy time is a breeze now and you figured out you can get out of it by rolling on your back. You take another nap in the early afternoon, but I really enjoy you being awake more during the day and playing with me! Baby Gym is almost done and you start Kindermusic in a couple weeks. I know you will love the music!
Thanks again for being the perfect baby for your Dad & Me. We love you more than anything and are so happy you are in our lives. You complete our family!
