You are now 20.5 months old! I can’t believe that you are such a little boy and not the curled up newborn that slept on my chest just a few Christmases ago.
You’ve become quite the chatterbox and love to tell us what you see; Elmo, ella (elephants or your friend Ella), meow meow (cats and your favorite bath toy that my friend Allison Alexander gave your yet-to-be-born sister), Reh (your dog Rex) and Coco, your stuffed dog.
Everything now has a name and you pick up on whatever your Dad & I say SO quickly. I’m constantly in awe of how fast you learn. You are also very parrot-like and have repeated some not so toddler-friendly words too. It was very hard for your Dad & I not to crack up laughing when we walked outside to pouring rain and you declared “sh*t!” I was secretly proud you used it in the proper context. You’re a smart little cookie. We now watch what we say much better than before.
You still love animals, especially the ellas at the zoo! Pigs are also a favorite and every time we pass the piggy bank end cap aisle at Target you point and oink, which sounds more like a grunt but I know what you mean.
The latest development in your blossoming personality is your fashion sense. You only want to wear yellow fireman boots, despite the stink and blisters they inflict on your feet. You’ll also tell me “no!” when I dress you in a shirt that you don’t feel like wearing. I usually make you tough it out on the clothes front because we’re down to bare bones wardrobes while living in a temporary house until our new house is finished next month.
You also practice your counting and alphabet quite a bit. They both sound very similar, but you’re getting the hang of it and can point out certain letters. We practice drawing on your new easel and your favorite pictures to draw are of mama and dada.
You have become like your father much more recently and have acquired his strong distaste for shopping. I don’t blame you though because I have drug you to MANY stores while picking out everything for our new home, thanks for your patience little man!
I’m so proud of you and your incredible, kind personality. I love that you can make everyone at a store smile and laugh, people are just drawn to you in a way I have rarely seen. I can’t wait to see what a wonderful big brother you’re going to be in just 8 short weeks.
Thanks for being you!
All my love,
