This month, my husband decided to write a letter to Jackson for his 6 month birthday. Introducing my guest blogger, my husband Greg 🙂
(I apologize for the spacing, I am still figuring out WordPress.)
Jackson, first off, Happy 6 month Birthday! I cannot believe how much you’ve changed these first 6 months. Your mom, me and Rex are so happy to have you in our lives! You are truly a blessing and a wonderful son. Everyday you do something new which amazes both your mom and me. I still remember your first smile. You and your mom were having a rough AM, and when I came home for lunch from the office, I picked you up and just started singing “Itsy Bitsy Spider” to you and there it was..your first smile and not your last!! A few weeks later, your mom and I were holding you, I was making a funny sound and then you started to laugh. Priceless!! Your newest accomplishment is sitting up on your own.
You hang out with your best bud Tysen a lot whom is 2 months older. Since he’s older he has already reached some of these developemental milestones that you are aiming for. Just a couple of weeks ago we were at Tysen’s home, enjoying a nice cookout with them and you were trying to immitate Tysen as he was sitting up really well. You would sit up for a minute or so, then topple over. I’d scoot you back up and you’d sit up a little longer, then fall again. Not once, when you fell, did you make a fuss. I was so proud of you for trying to sit up! Well, just a few days later you’ve accomplished that goal and just last week at your 6mth checkup, your pediatrician said you had GREAT upper body strength and would be crawling real soon! AMAZING!! So PROUD OF YOU!!
I know you are aware by know that you have your own pet, Rex. He is a family sized Yorkie. When you first came home from the hospital, I was a bit worried at how Rex would react to a baby and vice versa. I know now, that you two are going to be the best of buds! You love Rex…wherever he goes your eyes follow him. If you’re in the middle of eating and Rex happens to stroll on into the same room, you stop what you’re doing and just watch him. I know Rex is very protective of you. Almost every night, while you are upstairs sleeping and your mom and I are downstairs watching TV, Rex will disappear. I’ll go looking for him, to find him lying on our bed right next to your crib. Recently, you and I were working on sitting up, you happenned to fall over and cry a little bit, Rex came over and started to kiss your face, which immmediately calmed you down. A boy and his dog. Priceless!!
I’m really looking forward to taking you to many BC basketball and football games. We’ve already watched quite a few on tv as well as some Gator and Yankee games. It’s been a great bonding experience for both of us, especially when you and I sing “For Boston” together, (AKA the BC fight song.)
So your first 6 months have passed and I’ve loved being your dad for every moment of it! There’s been so many amazing memories we have shared as a family together. I want you to know how proud I am of you and that I love you very much. Happy 6 month birthday Jackson!
Love,
Dad
I love it!! It's so great to hear a Dad's point of view. I've been trying forever to get my husband to write as a guest on my blog. Maybe someday….Glad to hear Jackson is doing so well. It's crazy how fast they grow huh? :o)

This was just precious. Way to go, Dad!
What a great idea! I'm going to have to try to get Bret to write one for Gillian Grace's 11 month coming up. Thanks for sharing. So wonderful to read a note from Daddy's perspective!
