For 4 years now I have searched for the perfect mom bag. I’ve tried expensive diaper bags, huge purses, canvas totes and any other bag that could carry all the things a mom needs to tote around every day. I was the Goldilocks of bags and never found one to carry it all comfortably, until now.
This is my new Hayden Reis:
Isn’t she beautiful? She’s made of sailcloth and handmade right here in the United States. I never understood the obsession with sailcloth bags until I received this bag to review. Sailcloth is super lightweight, very durable and is resistant to water and sand. All of those features are important to me when choosing a bag.
My bag usually has diapers and wipes for Sidney, spare clothes and underwear for an almost-potty trained 3-year-old, an iPad to kill time while waiting for preschool pick up (while the baby naps), hand sanitizer, my wallet, cell phone, car keys, toys for the kids and there is usually a layer of crushed goldfish on the bottom. On any given day there can also be a swimsuit and towel for swim class, gym clothes and sometimes a tennis racquet. (Now you see why I need lightweight and easy to clean?)
Hayden Reis is designed by a Florida mom, Emily Stroud, who knows how to make a bag that can be worn by any mom and still be fashionable. Hayden Reis totes are a no-brainer for any mom, the hardest part is deciding which style to buy. I chose the “Anchors Away” design because I’m
slightly obsessed with all things anchor this year (I live in the Ocean State right now, so I’m allowed to, right?). I love looking at their website because it reminds me of my home state, Florida, but also because their models are so glamorous. Here is one carrying the same bag I have:
I like to keep it real around here so I can’t go take any pictures with my beloved Hayden Reis on a dock for a couple of reasons: one being that Sidney would leap into the water and the other that it is still freezing here and I know the picture would not look as good if I was bundled in a parka, shivering in our New England weather. It’s ok to laugh at the stark difference between my shot and the model shot, I know I did.
I will share a picture from last weekend of me with my Hayden Reis. I was at the Rhody Bloggers for Good Sit-A-Thon for Belle held at the Warwick La-Z-Boy and needed to carry a ton of stuff. I emptied it for the picture so you could see all the pockets, but it easily carried laptops, an iPad, my phone, notebook, wallet, chargers and snacks, all while looking stylish! Well, as stylish as *I* can be anyway.
I’m in love with my Hayden Reis and can’t wait to add to my collection!
