Do you read Momastery yet? Glennon Melton writes with the type of honesty and candidness that makes you want to scoop her up and be her best friend. She’s a breath of fresh air and I’m so thankful for my friend Cynthia for sharing her post “Don’t Carpe Diem” with me back in 2011. I’ve enjoyed her blog ever since.
She is so open with her struggles as a mother, wife and human being that you feel like she is personally giving you a hug and whispering in your ear, “it’s going to be alright, hang in there.” I’ve always been an honest person, maybe too
blunt honest at times, but I’ve always been WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get). Lately, I’ve doubted that trait of mine so I’m especially grateful for Momastery this week because reading her book and blog reassure me that it’s ok to be me, flaws and all. Nobody is perfect and that is OK.
Here’s a few things I’m especially thankful for today:
- Friends. ALL of my friends, the ones like Angie and Ginger whom I’ve known since I was 4 and the newer friends I’ve met recently who all bring something special to our family’s lives. My husband and I are so blessed with these wonderful people.
- Family and for the health of my family. We are planning a summer family reunion and I cannot wait to see my family together again.
- My kids. Even though I want to lose my temper when a tantrum is thrown, I’m so grateful for these two kids for showing me how special it is to be a mother.
- Internet: to be able to connect to so many people through my laptop is pretty amazing.
