I suppose I was expecting some magic fix when we met with the Feeding Team. Instead, I feel like Jackson’s “feeding” is worse than before. We haven’t done well with the suggestions. He refused to eat anything when I put him in the high chair for his three mini meals a day and ended up eating way less than before. I tried it for about three days until I couldn’t stand seeing him eat even less than before. So we went back to the old style, eating Cheez-Its on the go in the living room and carrying his milk with him after his meals. I’ve continued with their suggestions of adding heavy cream and other fattening agents to his meals and drinks, but we were doing that before we met with them. The bottom line is, if Jackson will eat snacks at the coffee table but not in his high chair I am going to do what will help him eat more calories.
I’m frustrated that I haven’t been able to get him to eat better. How can he go through an entire day having eaten only a Cheez-It and some Pediasure? I understand toddlers are notoriosly picky eaters, but this kid eats far less than any toddler I have ever been around, for weeks at a time. We meet with the Occupational Therapist this morning and I am curious to what other suggestions she’ll have for us. Nothing new and exciting in this post, just an update that I’m frustrated with the whole failing to thrive deal. Wouldn’t it be ironic if Baby Girl is a porker?
