One of the most exciting parts about building a new home is decorating it! I’ve never had such a blank slate before, from picking out the layout to paint colors and flooring choices. Some great web sites I’ve been scouting out for ideas are Houzz.com & Pinterest.com. Just be warned, those sites are total time-suckers. You will have spent three hours “pinning” and not even realize where the time went.
I’m really thrilled to finally have a guest bedroom for all of the family and friends that will be visiting from Florida. Since our townhouse was only a two bedroom, guests had to sleep in the makeshift guest room in the finished basement. It was definitely comfortable, but not having a bathroom nearby was inconvenient.
Now, in two weeks when we move into the finished house I get to set up the entire house from scratch. While trying to decide how I would decorate the baby’s nursery, I looked into several different options including custom baby bedding. I ended up deciding to reuse Jackson’s baby set but found some really cute bedding options in the process for babies and toddlers. I thought of family in Georgia when I saw this cute camo baby bedding. I have cousins that love to hunt who would love the camo bedding for their kids, it even comes in pink for little girls!
I found some wonderful bedding options for the guest room at Beyond Bedding and ended up getting a really pretty striped bedding set that will be perfect this winter. They sent us this beautiful 6 piece set that includes a comforter, two shams, two decorative pillows and a bed skirt. I cannot wait to set it up in the new room! They also have super cute options for babies and toddlers and you can even design your own bedding.
I promise I will update with pictures of how we decided to decorate as soon as we get settled in. Hopefully Baby Girl won’t decide to come early and I will have a couple of weeks to get settled in. Otherwise this is going to be one crazy month!
