The plague has infected our home. Also known as the “man cold” and it’s even more pitiful descendant, the “toddler boy cold”. BC Man brought home the lovely virus from work and being the kind-hearted man he is, shared it with our son. The whining, coughing and runny noses in this house has taken over my life the past week.
We spent Monday morning at the pediatrician’s office getting medicine for the Binkster since his toddler boy cold worsened into croup. While at the office he had a full out toddler meltdown, complete with head banging, and the little one had an epic blow out, destroying the outfit she was in while also taking down the cleanliness of exam room 4.
We left the doctors and headed straight to Target to fill the prescriptions and pick up some humidifiers for both kids. I wish we could have put a bubble around our cart to contain the sneezes and runny noses, but I made the trip as quick as possible.
On our doorstep when we arrived home was the wonderful surprise of two Cars 2 character die-casts waiting for the Binkster, thanks to Mattel. They could not have came at a better time, because what else can make a sick little boy feel better but some new cars?
He was so excited to get some new cars (pronounced “CAHS,” because after all we are just south of Boston in Rhode Island). We opened up Francesco Bernoulli and Shu Todoroki and the Binkster felt better almost immediately. Despite the runny nose and red eyes, he had a huge smile on his face while “vrooming” and “zooming” around with his new cars. I think Santa Claus might have to bring him a couple more cars from the collection since they were such a hit!
