 Back to the Gym

How has your week been? Mine has been great, and I owe most of it to My Fitness Pal and my Project 10 friends. Sidney turned 9 months last Saturday which means she can go to my gym’s daycare *cue angel’s singing music* Since I re-joined my old fitness stomping ground, I’ve lifted weights 3 times and the kids have enjoyed their time in the “play room.”

The first time I went to drop them off and go work out, the college student babysitter pulled out a little chair for Sidney to sit on when I told her it was her first time in daycare and she just turned 9 months. I had a brief “oh shit” moment when I realized this sweet girl wanted my 9 month old infant to sit on a chair. I quickly explained that she was little, couldn’t walk, and was unable to sit on chairs. Since it was slow I asked if she could just play on the floor with her and then I ran downstairs and had the quickest work out ever. Sidney survived and Jackson threw a typical 2 year old tantrum when we had to leave because he was having so much fun. That’s the thing with second kids, you know they will be fine. I probably would have run out of there screaming with Jackson because I would have been too worried to leave him.

I started following the #FitFluential hashtag on twitter and have found some great fitness women to follow (thanks to my neighbor, Kelly). Today I’m going to start doing #plankaday to build more core strength. I hope to start doing some classes at my gym also, particularly a Group Power class where you lift weights together- time to realize how weak my muscles have become!

I have purposely avoided the scales this week because my clothes are fitting better and I don’t want to obsess over numbers. I can fit into cute skirts that I haven’t worn in 3 years and that FEELS GREAT. It’s amazing how leading a healthier lifestyle can improve so much in life- quickly too!

I weighed myself this morning and was a little disappointed that I was only down .4 lbs, but I am reminding myself that the number isn’t what matters.

So the numbers for week 5 of Project 10 are:
beginning weight: 150.0
end of week 4: 145.2*
-.4 lbs  for the week
-4.8 lbs total

Are you participating in Project 10 with us? If so, link up below or leave a comment letting me know how your week was!

  1. congratulations on your success so far! And I can’t thank you enough for introducing me to My Fitness Pal! I am in love with the app and am able to take control of my food life better. I actually look forward to the challenge of figuring out what I can eat throughout the day and still have ice cream at night!

You are truly an inspiration !

    xoxo

  2. First, you are the reason I started with My Fitness Pal, and it is AMAZING! It’s the only thing I’ve found so far that actually works for me. So thank you :) Also, your weight probably isn’t going down because you’ve been working out, which is building muscle. And muscle weighs more. But eventually your body will adjust and you’ll go back to losing. I’ve had that experience in the past when I’ve tried to lose weight & incorporated strengh training with it. The important thing is that your clothes are fitting better! YAY! :)

  3. Get it, girl!!! I’ve been at the gym every day for the past 3 weeks!!! We go to the YMCA, so their child care center is AMAZING and the kids can start as young as 6-weeks. We go there after afternoon naps and stay there for 1-2 hours (or until daddy gets home). Keep up the good work!!!

I’m down to 130.8… for a total loss of 9.2 pounds!!! Woot woot!!!
