I have to admit, I never really understood the Royal Wedding hype. Until I found myself awake this morning at 5:30am with a nasty cold unable to fall back asleep. Still dark outside, I put the TV on silent to not wake my husband and fell under the Royal Wedding spell. Of course, I had my trusty iPhone in hand reading my friend’s tweets who were also up at the same unGodly hour.
I got goosebumps watching family pull up to Westminster Abbey and walk into the fabulous church. After a few minutes I was hooked and wanted to see what Kate was going to wear.
She was absolutely stunning and a classic bride. Seeing her and her groom looking at each other with so much love and adoration made my heart swell. I might have even shed a tear when she got to Prince William at the end of the aisle and he whispered to her “You’re beautiful.”
The wedding was amazing and now I understand why so many people in our country woke up at the crack of dawn to witness history. It was wonderful celebrating a young couple’s special day when there is so much negativity surrounding us today. Despite all of the hype, Catherine was still a bride marrying the love of her life and William was a nervous groom in love with his college sweetheart.
The highlight of my morning was when my husband told me that Jackson kept calling the new Duchess Catherine “Mama” when he saw her on the TV replays. Of course, I look nothing like Kate/Catherine (wish I did!) but it made me feel warm and fuzzy that Jackson thought the bride on TV was his Mama. Of course, the only bride I think he has seen was this picture in my dress, I guess a long white gown is close enough for a todder?
Did you catch the Royal Wedding this morning, either on purpose or by accident like me?
