I discovered etsy.com a couple of years ago, but my obsession with it began after Jackson was born. Who wouldn’t want handmade things for their baby? I never thought I was one to have a “theme” for my baby. When I was pregnant, we did not find out the sex so the nursery was done in a neutral lamb theme (“Sweet Lambie” by Pottery Barn).
It wasn’t until a few months after Jackson was born and my husband said “What’s with the sock monkeys?” I looked around and he was right, there were sock monkeys everywhere. On blankets, pillows, car seat strap covers; you name it! Apparently I, therefore Jackson, like sock monkeys. After my obsession collection was pointed out to me I decided Jackson needed a real sock monkey. Off to etsy I went. I searched for days and looked at countless number of shops on the quest for the perfect sock monkey.
Countless “sock monkey” searches later, I discovered “hoffee and a nuffin.” This is my all time favorite etsy store & seller! The owner, Rebecca, is a mom of two boys and hand makes the most perfect sock monkeys from her home in Oregon.
The first monkey I ordered was specifically made for babies & has embroidered eyes and a rattle inside for sensory development. Each sock monkey is embroidered with a number by Rebecca.
I have to admit, I was unsure that Jackson would love his first sock monkey as much as I did. Turns out he does!
He even takes all of his naps with it:
After buying his first sock monkey and receiving it in record time, I contacted Rebecca to see if she does any embroidery or customization. She does and whipped up a larger, full size monkey with Jackson on the chest and it was in his hands in a couple of days.
We now are the proud owners of two sock monkeys and will be returning to hoffee and a nuffin for baby shower and baby gifts as soon as possible!
* I was not asked to do a review for hoffee and a nuffin, nor was I compensated for this review. I bought both monkeys on my own and was so impressed by Rebecca and her sock monkeys that I needed to write about her wonderful shop in case any of my friends needed a sock monkey (or two)!
